I did not have a resume previously made so I gave my information to the Fast Track Internships consultant and he created one for me. It came out great! He asked me a lot of questions that made me think about all the stuff I participated in high school and college. Then he wrote it down in a professional format.

Next I got a package in the mail with 100 pre-addressed envelopes, cover letters, resumes and stamps. I signed the letters and mailed them out. The very next day I received 4 phone calls! I couldn't believe it. I ended up getting 22 calls, 13 interviews, and 15 job offers!

I have accepted TWO internships: one in Norman where I go to school and one in Oklahoma City at an organization called Maximus Counseling. Here I will be able to assist in patient evaluations. The owner of Maximus Counseling said that if I was good, he would start paying me for the evaluations. The internship in Norman will allow me to observe and sit in on actual counseling sessions. I am about to get more experience than I dreamed possible.

I took an unpaid job at a station in southern Indiana whose broadcast reaches Cincinnati and Indianapolis. At first, I only anticipated to help out with writing and producing commercials and sweepers. But within the first week, I was on the air as "CJ." Because of my enthusiasm and hard work, it also quickly turned into a paying internship. I've already learned so much about this industry, both behind the scenes and behind the mic. I sent out 107 letters and I got a total of 6 calls. Everyone who called wanted to hire me! I was really surprised to get six offers for internships when I did not even think they existed in my field. The job I am taking is at a company called Public Sector Consulting here in Lansing, where I will be doing election monitoring. I feel that I will have a leg up on the competition when I go on job interviews at graduation because I will have some real experience on my resume. And, speaking of my resume, just about everyone who has seen it has complimented me on it.
